Job Description:
Compliance Partner Program, Training and Ethics Initiatives
- Leads the Compliance Partners initiative, building and maintaining good relationships with all Compliance Partners to ensure effectiveness and promote awareness of the Compliance Program and all compliance obligations
- Review and analyze changes in laws and regulations relating to compliance obligations and assist with assessment of UF regulations and policies for ongoing compliance with federal and state law
- Assists as needed with the development of Compliance Partner annual reports and other compliance related activities
- Maintains the accuracy of the compliance plan and supporting matrices in collaboration with Compliance Partners
- Develops an ongoing compliance communication plan including regular compliance reminders, educational articles, quizzes, industry updates, and website development
- Implements effective marketing, training, and awareness campaigns to promote the compliance and ethics program
- Builds, maintains, and updates an enterprise-wise compliance calendar to support monitoring of compliance and ethics obligations
- Develops and implements any other compliance training, as needed
- Represents UF Compliance and Ethics at campus-wide and departmental meetings, as needed
- Coordinates ethics initiatives in alignment with the Florida Commission on Ethics and applicable provisions of Florida Statutes, Chapter 112
- Provides guidance and education related to public employee responsibilities and limitations, including ethics requirements related to gifts
- Supports vendor-related ethics requirements, including applicable disclosures and compliance obligations
- Represents UF Compliance and Ethics on the State University System (SUS) Consortium Ethics Sub-Committee and participates in related initiatives and working groups
Compliance and Ethics Program Support
- Assists the CCO and Director with the development, oversight and implementation of the institutional compliance and ethics program
- Conducts data collection and root cause analysis to identify trends and support continuous improvement efforts
- Assists the Director in implementation of an institutional compliance risk assessment process to enhance strategic compliance oversight and monitoring
- Provides regular updates and presentation materials to the CCO and Director for inclusion in reports for university leadership, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors
- Understands program monetary needs and accurately report on all fiscal requirements and obligations
- Develops internal policies and procedures, and partner with other units in the development of institutional policies and procedures
- Addresses inquiries, hotline complaints and other matters within the scope of the institutional compliance and ethics program
- Facilitates continuous improvement of the institutional compliance program, including participation in regular program self-assessment and external reviews
- Oversees Florida Commission on Ethics Form 1 filings, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete submission
- Responds to ethics-related questions and inquiries received through various intake or reporting channels
- Develops/revises the enterprise-wide compliance and ethics training for all employees ensuring compliance with federal/state law and university regulations and policies
- Develops, maintains, and periodically reviews foundational compliance and ethics documents, including the Audit and Compliance Committee Charter, Compliance Charter, and Compliance Work Plan
Subject-Matter Expertise
- Monitor the regulatory landscape within higher education compliance and ethics and continuously expand subject-matter expertise
- Participate in relevant compliance and ethics organizations, including attending meetings and conferences, participating in work groups, engaging in speaking opportunities, or performing other related activities
- Evaluate emerging compliance trends and make recommendations to the Director for implementing best practices to support continuous improvement of the university's program
- All other duties as assigned by the CCO or Director
- Maintains subject-matter expertise related to Florida ethics laws, Florida Commission on Ethics requirements, and ethics compliance within public higher education
Expected Salary:

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area and at least two years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in a related role
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification or must be earned within one year of employment
- Demonstrated strong writing and proofreading skills, producing final work products that are polished and ready for publication
- Compliance or legal experience within an institution of higher education or an academic medical center
- Strong organizational, communication, strategic planning, and project management skills
- Extensive knowledge of compliance principles, terminology, and regulatory requirements that impact universities and academic medical centers
- A proven record of excellence in customer service, integrity, teamwork, and collaboration
- Ability to translate complex legal requirements into understandable and meaningful terms within the context of higher education
- Prior experience in audit or investigations
- Computing skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
